How to compare the exact same model across UK shops
Model codes, suffixes and “exclusive” variants: how to make sure you are comparing like with like before you buy.
1. Find the model code, not the name
Product names vary between shops (“65-inch 4K OLED” vs “OLED65C5”). The manufacturer's model code is what identifies the product. You'll usually find it in the specifications section or the page title. For TVs it often includes the screen size and year, such as OLED65C54LA or KD-55X80L.
2. Watch the suffix
Letters at the end of a code can mean a different colour, stand, region or bundle. Two TVs that differ only in the suffix may have different stands or remotes. When the suffix differs, read both spec sheets before you treat them as the same product.
3. Beware “exclusive” models
Some retailers sell a model code no other shop stocks, which makes direct price comparison impossible. If you can't find the code anywhere else, compare the specifications with the nearest equivalent model.
4. Compare the total price
UK guidance requires mandatory charges to be included in the price you're shown, but optional delivery or installation may be extra.1 Compare like for like: delivery, installation, removal of an old appliance and warranty length.
5. Check the price history at each shop
A shop with a crossed-out price isn't necessarily cheapest. On our product pages, the “Compare prices” table shows the latest price at every shop we track for that model code, and when we last checked it.
